The home of Peyton and Martha Gentry overlooking Lake Auman at Seven Lakes West, which won the Home Builders Award of Excellence in 2000 will be shown on the Kitchens and Moore Tour.
The 5,000 square foot cottage contemporary located on a point lot on the lake, is surrounded by water on three sides. Floor to ceiling window walls across the entire rear of the house allow stunning views of the lake from each room. It would be easy to imagine being on a huge yacht, while seated in the plush upholstered chairs in the informal dining area looking out the bay window wall.
Although this is a kitchen tour, the entire house will be shown. The kitchen, perfect for entertaining, is equipped with two sinks, two dish washers, two ovens, a Sub Zero refrigerator, wine cooler and wonderful storage. The floor covering is ceramic tile and the cabinet tops are granite. Custom cabinets throughout the house were built by Harold Locklear.
Located on the main floor are the great room, formal dining area, kitchen and informal dining area, library and master suite. The lower level offers a family room and full sized bar, two additional bedrooms and baths, an office, exercise room and wine cellar.
The home was designed by Alan Stagaard and Chao Architects and built by Bolton Builders. Unique faux painting of several rooms was done by Arabesque. The impressive stamped concrete drive, walkways and patio area were done by Mark Gentry of Gentry Curb and Gravel.
Peyton and Martha Gentry are co-broker/owners of Re/Max Prime Properties in the Village of Pinehurst. Martha and her sales team have ranked No. 1 in the Moore County real estate market for the past five years. Last year this team was ranked No. 5 in North and South Carolina out of 1,800 other Re/Max agents from across both states.
Since this is a kitchen tour, there will be good cooks serving samples of favorite recipes in each house. Peyton Gentry will be the good cook in his home serving something special from the grill.
The Gentry’s came to Moore County from Scotland County. They have three sons and two grandchildren.
